I grew up enjoying the yearly canoe trip my entire extended family took each summer on Tippecanoe River in central Indiana. Through vacations my parents took me on each summer to all parts of the United States, I learned a great love of camping and the outdoors and an appreciation of the diversity which our nation holds.

In my adult life I have lived in several states here in this country and for four years lived on the Atlantic Coast in Panama. Each location has provided marvelous adventures, waiting for me to discover and enjoy!

Fifteen years ago, I became acutely aware of the need for clean food, clean farming methods and the support of our local farmers. I became a pasture-based farmer and strong supporter of Indiana Sustainable Agriculture and natural medicine. I began speaking about pasture-based farming methods and the reasons we so desperately need to all use our food dollars wisely, not only for our own health but to protect our environment.

As I moved away from farming, I still supported other farmers and continued on the environmental trail. I joined local groups such as the Wildcat Guardians who have an educational focus as well as a diligent crew of volunteers who get down and dirty in Wildcat Creek to clear it of trash and debris.

Weekend time turned to canoeing on any river that I could join in the shuttling of vehicles and a great day on the river! Hiking, camping, sailing, and cross country skiing all became in hot pursuit of my time as well.

I was given my river name by a great friend and Expedition Team leader, Garry Hill. On one overnight trip he organized, a storm blew in during the night, causing the river to rise within inches of my tent. On another trip, down Wildcat Creek, the kayak I was paddling overturned and I became trapped under a tree for a few moments. These events along with my seemingly endless ‘storms of life’ inspired the name “Stormy”. The name stuck and have I have loved it ever since.

Life has been such an incredible journey for me that I have decided to share my adventures with others through my web site, FB page and writing articles for the local newspaper 'The Kokomo Herald'.

So, follow me as I travel, explore, and dare to discover all there is in the great outdoors.
